REVIEW.

This movie portrays both  comedy, tragedy and romance. It depicts these days relationship between a man and his wife. In the movie, there are three marriages sited. There is Tokunboh and Zion ( Ramsey Nouah and Rukky Sanda). The movie shows them to be the happiest couple, they have no problem at all and they share their joy with their friends. The next couple is Rasheed and Maya ( Alex Ekubo and Ini Edo). Maya at all cost wants Rasheed to notice her, so she tries to seduce him by playing dress up but Rasheed is shaken and disgusted by this. He asks her where the decent woman he married is. Maya claims that they have lost the spice in their marriage. Then comes the third couple, Lanre and Tamar ( Kenneth Okoli and Monalisa Chinda). Lanre loves his wife and tries to show her this in anyway he can. He tries to make love to her, but she always cooks up excuses which leaves Lanre frustrated. This pushes him away and Tamar starts to believe that he is cheating on her. Then comes a twist of events when this movie shows the resolution in the supposedly bad marriages as Tamar and Lanre resolve their issue as well as Rasheed and Maya. The perfect marriage of Tokunboh and Zion comes to an end as Zion finds out that Tokunboh is cheating on her with her friends. This depicts a very high standard of irony.

The movie, however have some flaws. There is a shaky side of certainty in the movie where Tamar and Lanre claim that they have two children but the movie showed only a child. During the therapy session, it was obvious that the therapist wasn’t writing anything down when she was asking the couple questions. Also, Monalisa Chinda over acted the role of Tamar when she was always giving excuses to avoid being intimate with her husband. The make-up artist failed to show the difference between when Zion was still with Tokunboh and when she left him. Her make-up was still very shouty and pronounced. The difference was supposed to portray that she was more of herself than when she was with Tokunboh as she was always dressed and looked the way her husband wanted her to. The movie ridiculed Yoruba language when it allowed Alex Ekubo speak it. When he spoke Yoruba in the movie, it sounded like a mixture of pidgin and English which makes the audience confused.

ELEMENTS OF THE MOVIE.

1.      Pictures: The picture quality was good and there was no unnecessary colour scheme, but there is always room for improvement.

2.      Costume:  The costumes used very stylish and they suited each scene especially the scenes where Maya tries to seduce her husband. The make-up and hairdo was moderate and suited all the characters apart from Zion who had her make-up and hairdo overdone.

3.      Sound effects : The background music suited each scene. The club scene was matched with the perfect music and the tragic part was well placed with its perfect music. The comedy scenes were perfectly placed with no music, depicting silence to give the audience the opportunity to grasp the joke and then burst into laughter.

Different shots were used to identify a character and show the gravity of the role being played. Low angle shot was used to show the gravity of how Tamar was worried that her husband wasn’t back yet at the early hours of the day. The production of the movie was however good. It is a movie I would love to watch again despite its flaws.  It definitely would catch anyone’s attention starting with its title.
