REVIEW:

Alice Amadi Okoye played by Chinny Ahaneku is a well known figure in her community and a bad egg of her family.  She is one of the two wives living in the village with her husband (Amadi), one daughter ( Thelma Chukwu), two other step kids and husbands second wife. She causes commotion all over the village, she wants to fight anyone who offends her. Anywhere she goes, that trouble seeking syndrome follows her. She is not at peace with herself, her family, and her entire community. She is a drama queen and knows how to stir up quarrels. Although she gets married to a man named Amadi Okoye played by Joseph Okechukwu who loves her ignoring several advices from his family members not to go through with the wedding. He ends up regretting his decision because the love of his life turned him into a “house boy”.

Is Alice under some sort of spell? What would be the end of her hate and anger towards everyone?. This is the part that gets interesting for the viewers alone.

COSTUME:

The costumes used in the movie matched the characters completely. They made use of English and Traditional wears to reflect the Engli-Igbo (English and Igbo) movie.

CHARACTERS:

Alice (Chinny Ahaneku) is not only a great female writer and director but also a good actress. She is a young version of Patience Ozokwor. She did a great job in putting herself in the character, she was very energetic.

Thelma Chukwu was very impressive acting as the daughter of Alice. She was very articulate and also acted natural. She never supported her mother (Alice) in her wrong doings.

Akunne (Comfort Bruno) suffered in the hands of Alice. She was the second wife of Amadi (Joe Chukwu). She was a quiet, kind hearted woman.

Amadi (Joe Okechukwu) is a very loving and ever caring husband. He showered Alice all the love he could give. He genuinely loved her. But the love wasn’t mutual. He was patient enough to tolerate all the bad deeds of Alice until he had had enough.

Patience Ozokwor: She plays Alice’s aunty in-law (Alice’s husband’s aunty). She hated Alice.

LIGHTING:

In the movie, the environment was well lit; the background could be seen very clearly. However, when it was night, the characters were not seen clearly and the expressions on their faces were not really seen. The background wasn’t well lit.

SOUND AND MUSIC:

The Sound was clear, free from noises especially from the background. The music mostly used was ominous (indicating that something bad is going to happen).

CONCLUSION:

A movie that should be rated one of the best movies ever made. The Engli-igbo (English and Igbo) made the film a delight to watch whether you understand Igbo or not. It’s one of those films you will like to watch over and over again. Watching this movie is worth your time and money. When part 1 is over, viewers will definitely crave to get part 2.
