Igwe 2Pac is a mouthwatering and sagacious action packed royal movie. Upon the demise of his father the king of the fictional ‘Akuku land’ (based on the eastern part of Nigeria). The prince and his cohorts become a thorn in the flesh of the people of the kingdom. The center could not hold, and the kingdom became uninhabitable. With an irresponsible king in the making and with the death of the king the kingdom is yet to witness the worse ever reign Can he over power the entire kingdom?
The camera used in the movie was very poor and the actors did a poor job acting the movie aside from the prince (Charles Okocha) the movie was sort of a cliché as it was easy to predict what would happen before the end of each scene in the movie and the location set-up was also very poor as the location manager failed to find tangible locations for the shoot of the movie but the element of comedy was used profusely in the movie.
The costume designer also did a great job as to portraying the right costumes to members of the cast.
The movie is a combination of both comedy and drama as it portrays the stupidity of a prince( Charles Okocha) when he forcefully takes on the throne after the death of his father, the prince hears of his father’s death and comes back from the united states where he wasted his life doing drugs. He is a rebellious child as he was happy when he heard the news of his fathers’s death knowing that he was going to be the crowed king of the fictional ‘Akuku land’.
The problem starts when he violates the tradition of the people by attempting to bury his father a week after his death, the whole elders of the village come against him and refuse to swear him in as the king. He then tells his friends Evans(Browny Igboegwu) and Osita(Junior Pope) they then hire thugs and fire all the servants in the kingdom, they then forcefully take over the throne and beats up anyone who comes in their way including the elders.
He makes his fathers company go bankrupt by going there to collect huge sums of money so he can use it to purchase drugs like cocaine and weed and even when the manager refused to give him the money he requested he then fires him and hires the company clerk to take charge with the condition that he gives him any sum he wants.
The elders plot against him and March down to the palace to threaten him but things take turn during their visit.
Will the people adopt to his new rules and regulations? Or will they fight against the kingdom and go through his thugs who clear anyone who comes against the king. Watch the movie to find out what happens in this comedy filled movie as each scene of the movie never fails to make you laugh.
I would advise you to watch this movie as its very funny and has lots of morals.
This quote was used by the prince when he paid the elders a visit
‘why you niggers snitching on my ass like crazy?’
ELEMENTS OF PRODUCTION
SOUND EFFECT: The sound quality of this movie is very poor as there is a bit of static in the sound and you have to strain your ears to listen to what they are saying.
VIDEO QUALITY: the video quality is poor propbaly a standard definition camera was used during the course of the movie
SHOTS AND ANGLES: various shots and angles were used in this movie, Medium shot and Mid-angle shot was mostly used in the movie.
COSTUME: costumes used in this movie were very good, it was based on the eastern tribe of Nigeria
The movie is not that bad, the director of the movie really as he made us have a kind of relationship with the prince( Charles Okocha) and the camera men and crew men did a great job using the right shots for the right scenes.
The basic lesson in this movie is that we shouldn’t let power to get over our heads and we should always lead by example.
